Job summary

Nuffield Health Hereford Hospital is seeking a Receptionist to join the Administration team on a permanent, part-time basis. The role is 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 16:15-20:15, with a pro rata salary of £25,038 per annum.

You will use strong communication, IT and keyboard skills to greet patients, answer calls, book appointments and direct visitors, while explaining information clearly and empathetically. Prior healthcare admin experience is beneficial.

• Proficient IT and keyboard skills for receptionist duties.
• Ability to explain sensitive information in a calm, empathetic manner.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors to the department.
• Answer the phone, handle enquiries and book appointments.
• Direct patients to changing or waiting areas and coordinate with staff.
• Prepare and manage clinical paperwork and charge sheets as required.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth department operations.

As a Receptionist at our hospital, you'll have great communication, IT and keyboard skills. You're also able to explain sensitive or complicated information in a way that's clear, sympathetic and easy to understand. Ideally, you have experience of working in healthcare administration or on reception.

Responsibilities

• Help people feel comfortable when they visit your department
• Use your empathy and customer service skills to build positive relationships
• Answer the phone, deal with enquiries and book appointments
• Welcome patients in person, directing them to the appropriate changing or waiting rooms
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure the department runs smoothly
• Prepare clinical paperwork, referral forms, charge sheets, and terms and conditions
