Job summary

Quantum Care is seeking a part-time Receptionist to join Elm View Care Home in Bishop's Stortford. The role is 25 hours per week on an alternating rolling rota with weekday shifts, including occasional weekends.

You will be the friendly face at the front desk, handling calls, visitors and deliveries in a professional, hotel-style environment. The ideal candidate has previous receptionist experience, strong customer service and clear communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as a receptionist is preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work alone.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Confident in face-to-face, phone and email communication.

Responsibilities

• Reception & telephone support — front of house service for staff, visitors and callers.
• Manage deliveries and ensure items reach the correct recipient.
• Process invoices and forward to the Home Manager.
• Maintain reception areas, keeping the foyer tidy and welcoming.
• Organise the post room and stationery cupboard.
• Handle outgoing mail and daily mail collection.
• Monitor stationery supplies and order stock as required.
• Support the Home Manager with additional duties as needed.
• Computer literacy is essential.

Contract: Part Time - Perm

Hour: 25 hours per week

Shift: Alternate rolling week rota - Weekdays

Pay: £12.71 per hour

We are seeking a Two Receptionists to join our Hotel Styled Boutique feel Care Home in Bishop's Stortford, a contemporary luxury 78-bed residential home. Elm View Care Home is positioned as a modern, purpose-built care home with a strong focus on high-end facilities, hotel-style living, and personalised care.

The role will be on a two week rolling rota:

• Receptionist 1:
  • Week 1 - Monday & Tuesday 9am – 6pm / Wednesday 9am – 1.30pm
  • Week 2 - Wednesday 1.30pm – pm /Thursday & Friday 9am – 6pm

• Receptionist 2:
  • Week 1 – Wednesday 1.30pm – pm /Thursday & Friday 9am – 6pm
  • Week 2 - Monday & Tuesday 9am – 6pm / Wednesday 9am – 1.30pm

As a Receptionist, you will be the welcoming face of our Home, providing a professional and friendly service to residents, visitors, colleagues and callers.

What You’ll Bring

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Reception & telephone support — delivering a comprehensive front of house service to staff, visitors and callers.
• Managing deliveries — ensuring items reach the correct recipient and are not left unattended.
• Processing invoices — completing authorisation paperwork and passing it to the Home Manager.
• Maintaining reception areas — keeping the foyer and reception clean, tidy and welcoming.
• Organising the post room — ensuring the post room and stationery cupboard remain well‑ordered.
• Handling outgoing mail — preparing and bagging daily mail for collection.
• Monitoring stationery supplies — ordering stock as required.
• Supporting the Home Manager — undertaking additional duties aligned with your skills and competencies.
• Computer literacy is essential.
