Job summary

Quantum Care is seeking a Care Assistant for Melwood Grange Care Home in Royston. A 73-bed, purpose-built home offers a welcoming environment in Hertfordshire countryside. You will provide compassionate, person-centred care and support residents with dignity and respect to maintain independence.

The role is 30–35 hours per week with pay £12.96/hr on weekdays and £13.96/hr on weekends. Shifts are 7:30am–2:30pm or 2:30pm–9:30pm, including some weekends.

Qualifications

• Empathetic individual with good communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to care for older people with compassion and respect.
• Induction training and ongoing development opportunities available.
• Willingness to work shifts including weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays.
• Aged 18 years or over.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including washing, dressing, grooming and toileting, plus meals and hydration.
• Assist residents with daily activities to promote independence.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
• Follow individual care plans and work as part of a team.
• Maintain high standards of person-centred care.

As a Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate person-cantered care and support residents with respect and dignity to maintain independence.

What You'll Bring

• It is not necessary to have previous experience of working in a similar care environment because, as long as you are an empathetic individual who has a positive attitude and good communication skills, our first-class training will do the rest.
• You will be able to undertake all aspects of caring for older people with compassion and respect in order to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents.
• Our staff have access to first class induction training and ongoing learning and development opportunities including the opportunity to work towards industry recognised qualifications.
• Our Homes operate on a 24/7, 365-day basis therefore you will need to be able to work shifts (including weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays).
• You must be aged 18 years or over to apply for this job.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and support, including assistance with washing, dressing, grooming and toileting, as well as assisting with meals, hydration and nutritional care.
• Assisting residents with daily activities promoting independence
• Building positive and professional relationships with residents, families and colleagues
• Follow individual personalised care plans
• Working as a part of a team to deliver high quality of person- centred care
