Long Term Futures is seeking a caring and patient Reception SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rugby. You will support children in Reception with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop communication and build confidence and independence within the classroom.

The role requires Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent), and at least 1 year of experience in a Primary, Preschool or EYFS setting.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 1 year of experience in a Primary School, Preschool or EYFS setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD and communication needs.
• Knowledge of Makaton, PECS and visual communication strategies.
• Experience supporting phonics and early learning.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
• Patient, nurturing and consistent approach.
• Two-form entry primary school; part of a supportive Multi-Academy Trust; OFSTED Good.

Responsabilités

• Support Reception children with additional needs to access learning and participate in class activities.
• Help develop communication, confidence and independence within the classroom.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN support staff to implement inclusive strategies.
• Assist with daily routines and environment for early years learners.
• Safeguard pupils and contribute to the school’s safeguarding practices.
