Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Stechford. You will support pupils working significantly below age-related expectations, focusing on EYFS activities and early development for children with autism and speech needs.

Role involves 1:1 and small-group interventions, promoting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation, and calmly handling challenging behaviours while collaborating with teachers and the SEN team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with autism and speech and language needs.
• Experience working with pupils below age-related expectations.
• A resilient, patient and consistent approach to behaviour.
• Confidence delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils accessing EYFS-level activities and early developmental learning.
• Encourage communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Manage challenging behaviour calmly using positive strategies.
• Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to support pupil progress.
