About Us

Summary

We are looking for a welcoming and diligent individual to join our team as a Reception, Attendance and Admissions Officer. This pivotal role is the first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors, requiring a professional, approachable manner and excellent communication skills.

You will be responsible for assisting front-of-house reception duties, maintaining accurate attendance records, and supporting the admissions process from initial enquiry through to enrolment. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school office, demonstrating strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

The actual salary for this role will be £29,003.40-£30,717.48 (41 weeks per year, 37.5 hours per week).

Main Areas of Responsibility
Reception and Attendance
  • Assisting SLT in the Management and Development of attendance and punctuality policies
  • Daily monitoring and follow-up of attendance and punctuality
  • To organise and oversee sanctions for poor punctuality
  • To phone parents/carers of students absent at agreed time and record reasons for absence if given
  • To ensure that attendance codes are accurately entered and maintained on the MIS
  • Daily monitoring and early calls on the attendance of children in care or students on the vulnerable list as a priority, reporting to the Assistant Principal daily
Admissions
  • Oversee administration of the annual admissions cycle, including but not limited to: candidates applying September-July, interviews, sending out conditional offers throughout the year and enrolling successful applicants in August.
  • Maintaining an applicant’s spreadsheet
  • Providing regular communication with applicants, including sending newsletters and regular correspondence from the academy leadership team
  • Assist the academy leadership team with the organisation of applicants’ events, including Open Evenings and Applicants’ days
Qualifications & Experience

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • English and Mathematics GCSE or equivalent
  • Qualifications to undergraduate degree level or equivalent
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft software
  • Knowledge of attendance policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of the social issues facing students from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Experience in an administrative role
  • Experience in a public-facing role
  • Experience of working with young people
