Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd. is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service, maintain and repair vehicles at customer locations such as driveways and workplaces. You will work 40 hours weekly, Mon-Sat, with overtime and progression opportunities.

You will handle diagnostics, use tools, and communicate repair needs with customers, while keeping detailed records and handling payments where required.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, workshop or mobile role
• Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via prebooked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Location: Windsor

Pay / salary: £45,370 (inclusive of LWA) OTE: Up to £57,000

Job type: Permanent / Full time role

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role:

Home based, working 40 hours per week, across 5 days (Monday to Saturday) 8am – 8PM, working 1 in 4 Saturdays.

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional – more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role:

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) customer selected location e.g. driveway, office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

What you’ll need to be considered for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role:

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
