Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician based in Wembley to service, maintain and repair vehicles at customers' homes or places of work, with pre-booked appointments.

Home-based role, 40 hours per week across 5 days (Mon–Sat) 8:00–20:00, with optional overtime and a focus on keeping customers informed and satisfied. Benefits include pension, life Insurance, EV salary sacrifice, and breakdown cover.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 light vehicle maintenance & repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, in workshop or mobile role.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at customer locations (driveways, car parks, etc.).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools/software to identify and resolve problems.
• Communicate clearly with customers about issues and recommendations.
• Handle payments through card transactions.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Stay up to date with latest automotive technology and repair techniques.

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via pre-booked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Location: Wembley

Pay / salary: £55,625 (inclusive of LWA) OTE: Up to £62,000

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician role

Home based, working 40 hours per week, across 5 days (Monday to Saturday) 8am – 8PM, working 1 in 4 Saturdays.

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional – more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Technician role

What you’ll need to be considered for the Mobile Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.

• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans
