Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician in Enfield for a permanent role. You will service and repair vehicles at customer locations, including EVs, with a 40-hour week spread over five days (Mon–Sat, 8am–8pm). Overtime is optional and can add substantial yearly earnings.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, routine maintenance, and clear customer communication. A valid UK driving licence and relevant qualifications are required, with progression and training opportunities

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (Level 3 preferred).
• At least 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience.
• Full UK driving licence with max 6 points.
• Able to work independently and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at customer locations (driveway, office car park, etc.).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations to customers.
• Handle payments via card transactions.
• Keep up to date with automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via prebooked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Job type: Permanent / Full time role

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

Home based, working 40 hours per week, across 5 days (Monday to Saturday) 8am – 8PM, working 1 in 4 Saturdays.

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional – more flexibility, more reward.

What you’ll need to be considered for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
