Job summary

Fifth Wheel Recruitment seeks Class 1 Tanker Driver in Rugby to join our client handling cement, aggregates and ready-mix products. You will drive HGV Class 1 Tankers, perform pre- and post-trip checks, and ensure safe, compliant transport. Training is provided where needed, and a strong safety record is required.

You must hold a Class 1 Licence, DCPC and Digi-tacho cards, with up to 6 GPL points accepted. Cement/aggregates experience is a plus; VISA or relocation support is not offered.

Qualifications

• Class 1 Tanker driving experience preferred.
• DCPC and Digi-tacho cards required.
• UK resident; able to travel to site.
• Knowledge of WTD regulations advantageous.
• 6 points max on licence; certain endorsements not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 Tanker; tanker training provided if needed.
• Perform routine vehicle checks and keep cab/ trailer clean.
• Ensure loads are secured and correctly placed.
• Adhere to site safety procedures and high-quality workmanship.
• Maintain standards and support continuous improvement.

Assessment: Yes - required before start (full Tanker training provided)

Fifth Wheel Recruitment are looking for Class 1 Drivers in Rugby to work with our client, who manufactures and distributes cement, ready-mix concrete and aggregates.

Employee Benefits:

Days £19.57 per hour (Holiday Pay: £2.36 per hour if paid on top (£21.93 total if requested))

Nights £20.73 per hour (Holiday Pay: £2.50 per hour if paid on top (£23.23 total if requested))

Class 1 Tanker Driver - Role & Responsibilities:

• Operating HGV Class 1 Tanker (Tanker training provided if required)
• Routine vehicle checks and maintaining trailer and cab cleanliness
• Ensuring all loads are placed and secured correctly
• All applicants are expected to complete work to a high standard while following site safety procedures.

About you:

You will have your Class 1 Driving Licence and at least 12 months experience driving commercially. You must also have your UK DCPC card and a valid Digi-tacho card. Our client may accept up to 6 points on your licence, but we can not accept DD, TT, DR, CD, IN endorsements. As a professional Driver, you will be up to date with the WTD regulations.

Previous experience working with cement/aggregates would be beneficial.

You will be a UK resident and will be able to travel to and from the site for your shift. We are unable to assist with VISA applications and cannot assist with relocation.
