Job summary

Veolia is recruiting for a loader at Lynnbottom Household Waste Recycling Centre in Newport. You will work 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, with an early start and a 30-minute lunch break.

Expect heavy lifting, bin handling, and occasional 3.5T van driving to service commercial premises, plus daily vehicle checks and adherence to safety policies. We support development, health, and employee well-being within a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Operational manual handling experience is required.
• Full UK driving licence (Class B) held at minimum.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing;

With one of the largest growing fleets in the UK, our drivers are pivotal to delivering essential services. They work hard to serve their local communities and make a positive impact every day.

• This is predominantly a loader role, but ad hoc driving duties will be required in a 3.5T van
• Heavy lifting and manual handling of trade waste bins and containers
• Moving and repositioning heavy commercial bins and euro containers
• Servicing commercial premises, including shops, businesses and industrial sites
• Completing daily vehicle checks (walkaround checks) and reporting defects
• Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company health & safety policies
• Maintaining accurate records, including driver defect reports and tachograph compliance
• Working across all weather conditions throughout the year

What are we looking for?

• Similar operational manual handling experience
• Full Driving licence - standard car licence B
