Job summary

Veolia is hiring at Lynnbottom Household Waste Recycling Centre, Newport Isle of Wight. This full-time loader role offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6:45am to 3:15pm (30 mins unpaid lunch). Salary £27,976 with Veolia benefits.

You’ll handle heavy lifting of trade waste bins, assist with container movements, service commercial premises, and perform daily vehicle checks. A standard driving licence (B) is required and ad hoc driving in a 3.5T van may be needed.

Qualifications

• Similar operational manual handling experience.
• Full Driving licence - standard car licence B.

Responsibilities

• Heavy lifting and manual handling of trade waste bins and containers.
• Moving and repositioning heavy commercial bins and euro containers.
• Servicing commercial premises, including shops, businesses and industrial sites.
• Completing daily vehicle checks (walkaround checks) and reporting defects.
• Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company health & safety policies.
• Maintaining accurate records, including driver defect reports and tachograph compliance.
• Working across all weather conditions throughout the year.

What you’ll be doing

• With one of the largest growing fleets in the UK, our drivers are pivotal to delivering essential services. They work hard to serve their local communities and make a positive impact every day. This is predominantly a loader role, but ad hoc driving duties will be required in a 3.5T van
