Responsibilities

• Respond to alerts from clients' security systems (panic alarms, intruder alarm, access control and CCTV).
• Answer inbound calls and, when needed, contact emergency services and clients.
• Liaise with site owners, Police, partner security firms and other bodies.
• Operate and monitor CCTV.
• Act as emergency coordinator following safety procedures.
• Perform access control duties at the control room or remotely.
• Book guards on and off shifts.
• Respond to incidents and keep the manager informed.
• Complete daily activity/disturbance reports.
• Communicate with local businesses regarding significant events.
• Liaise with guards and shift patterns.
• Sign in/out of keys.
• Act on alarm activations by phone.
• Stay vigilant with good attention to detail.
• Stay composed when handling incidents at client premises.
• Be confident using PCs and related software.
• Demonstrate excellent spoken communication skills.

Job description

The ideal candidate will be a friendly and positive person. They will have a confident and pleasant phone manner, remaining calm and helpful during busy periods. These same skills will enable them to remain composed and in control when handling incidents. They will feel ‘at home’ and confident with using computers and Windows operating systems. They will be able to remain vigilant during night shifts. They will be able to work in a small team to work shifts covering 24/7 365 days per year - including weekends and bank holidays according to a rota.

Specific duties

• Responding to alerts from our clients' security systems (panic alarms, intruder alarm, access control and CCTV systems)
• Use of the telephone in answering inbound calls, and in calling the emergency services and clients when situations arise
• You will also liaise with third parties such as site owners, Police, partner security firms & other official bodies, so a good customer service focus is required.
• Operating and Monitoring CCTV
• Act as emergency co-ordinator following safety and emergency procedures
• Perform access control duties at the control room or remotely
• Booking guards on and off shifts
• Respond to all incidents as required, keeping the manager informed
• Complete daily reports regarding activity or disturbances.
• Communicate with local business regarding any significant events/occurrences
• Liaising with guards and their shift patterns
• Signing in/out of keys
• Act on phone call alarm activations
• Someone who is vigilant and has good attention to detail
• Ability to stay composed when handling incidents at a clients' premises.
