Job summary

Nite Lite Security Services in the United Kingdom (Wales) seeks a vigilant night-shift security controller to monitor CCTV and respond to alarms. You will work 24/7 on a rota, including weekends and bank holidays, using PCs and security software.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alerts from clients' security systems (panic alarms, intruder alarms, access control, CCTV).
• Answer inbound calls and liaise with clients, site owners, and emergency services as needed.
• Operate and monitor CCTV; coordinate incidents and report activities.
• Liaise with third parties such asPolice and partner security firms; ensure proper handovers.

Job description

The ideal candidate will be a friendly and positive person. They will have a confident and pleasant phone manner, remaining calm and helpful during busy periods. These same skills will enable them to remain composed and in control when handling incidents. They will feel 'at home' and confident with using computers and Windows operating systems. They will be able to remain vigilant during night shifts. They will be able to work in a small team to work shifts covering 24/7 365 days per year - including weekends and bank holidays according to a rota.

Specific duties

• Responding to alerts from our clients' security systems (panic alarms, intruder alarm, access control and CCTV systems)
• Use of the telephone in answering inbound calls, and in calling the emergency services and clients when situations arise
• You will also liaise with third parties such as site owners, Police, partner security firms & other official bodies, so a good customer service focus is required.
• Operating and Monitoring CCTV
• Act as emergency co-ordinator following safety and emergency procedures
• Perform access control duties at the control room or remotely
• Booking guards on and off shifts
• Respond to all incidents as required, keeping the manager informed
• Complete daily reports regarding activity or disturbances.
• Communicate with local business regarding any significant events/occurrences
• Liaising with guards and their shift patterns
