Job summary

Machine Mart is seeking a Temporary Part-time Retail Sales Assistant to join a small team and help customers with technical product questions. You will explain equipment clearly, offer honest advice and build rapport while supporting the store's sales goals.

The role is up to 23.5 hours per week and includes time-off-in-lieu options. The ideal candidate has experience selling technical products in retail, strong numeracy, and basic computer skills, with a can-do attitude and self-motivation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in selling technical products to customers.
• Experience in a retail customer service orientated environment.
• Previous experience in dealing with customers.
• Practical knowledge of some or all of our product range.

• You’ll be joining a small team of between 4 – 6 members of staff
• You’ll be committed to delivering a great customer experience
• You’ll be working up to 23.5 hours per week - any extra time worked beyond your contracted hours is paid or can be taken as time off in lieu
• You’ll be explaining technical equipment in an understandable manner
• You’ll be committed to offering honest advice and building a rapport with customers
• You’ll ensure that you exceed our customers’ expectations and reassure them when they're bewildered by choice
• You’ll be working hard as part of the team in achieving challenging sales targets

What you’ll need - skills and experience:

• You’ll have previous experience in selling technical products to customers
• You’ll have experience in a retail customer service orientated environment
• You’ll have previous experience in dealing with customers
• You’ll have practical experience / knowledge of some or all of our product range
• You’ll possess strong accuracy and numeracy skills
• You’ll possess basic computer literacy
• You’ll be self motivated and have a can‑do attitude
