Job summary

Machine Mart, the UK’s leading workshop power tools retailer, is seeking a customer-facing team member in Carlisle. You’ll work in a small team, explain technical equipment to customers, and strive to exceed expectations while actively contributing to sales targets.

You’ll be part of a busy store with up to 45 hours per week, receive staff discounts, a company pension, life cover, and access to wellbeing resources. Training and internal promotions are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience selling technical products to customers in a retail environment.
• Customer service oriented background with a focus on accuracy and product knowledge.
• Ability to explain technical equipment clearly and build rapport with customers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver great customer experience and work as part of a small team (4–6 staff).
• Explain technical equipment in an understandable way and exceed customer expectations.
• Work up to 45 hours per week with time off in lieu option for extra time.
• Contribute to achieving challenging sales targets and promote internal candidates.

Job description

- You’ll be joining a small team of between 4 – 6 members of staff

- You’ll be committed to delivering a great customer experience

- You will be working up to 45 hours per week - all extra time worked is paid or can be taken as time off in lieu

- You’ll be explaining technical equipment in an understandable manner

- You’ll be committed to offering honest advice and building a rapport with customers

- You’ll ensure that you exceed our customers’ expectations and reassure them when they're bewildered by choice

- You’ll be working hard as part of the team in achieving challenging sales targets

What you’ll need - skills and experience:

- You’ll have previous experience in selling technical products to customers

- You’ll have experience in a retail customer service orientated environment

- You’ll have previous experience in dealing with customers

- You’ll have practical experience / knowledge of some or all of our product range

- You’ll possess strong accuracy and numeracy skills

- You’ll possess basic computer literacy

- You’ll be self motivated and have a can-do attitude
