Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland, in partnership on the HS2 Track infrastructure programme, is seeking a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager. You will coordinate interfaces between track systems, alliance members and design partners to ensure timely, integrated delivery.

You will lead spatial coordination, drive design governance and technical assurance, promote Health and Safety in Design, and manage external design teams across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design, integration, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience working within contractor-led, design and build or alliance delivery environments.
• Experience managing external design organisations and consultant teams.
• Strong understanding of design management processes within major rail or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical interfaces between Track systems, Main Works Contractors and Alliance members.
• Lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs and manage design coordination meetings and reviews.
• Coordinate technical assurance activities and ensure designs are reviewed, verified, and compliant with governance.
• Promote Health and Safety in Design and ensure CDM processes are followed across the Alliance.
• Support Principal Designer duties and manage stakeholder expectations across cross-functional teams.
