Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a mechanical design engineer for rail projects. The role focuses on interpreting client requirements and developing designs for pipework, ventilation and plant selection within rail environments.

The successful candidate will have rail design experience and pursue Chartered Engineer status, with opportunities for hybrid working across UK offices in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of mechanical design in the Rail environment.
• Qualifications meeting UK Chartered Engineer requirements.
• Knowledge of drainage, rainwater, and BMS for mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Interpret client specifications to develop designs.
• Design pipework for heating, cooling, and water systems.
• Design ventilation systems, including general ventilation.
• Select plant and equipment (AHUs, fans, pumps, boilers, chillers, ductwork).
