Job summary

WSP is seeking an Engineer/Senior Mechanical Engineer, MEP (Rail) for roles in London and Birmingham. You will interpret client specs and develop designs for rail-specific mechanical systems, including pipework, heating, cooling, and ventilation, while selecting suitable plant and equipment to meet project needs.

The role requires experience in rail mechanical design and UK chartership standards, with hybrid working options across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience of mechanical design in the Rail environment.
• Qualifications meeting the requirements for Chartership with a UK Engineering Institution.
• Knowledge of pipework, heating, cooling and ventilation system design would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Interpret client specification requirements in the development of designs.
• Design of pipework including heating, cooling, hot and cold water systems;
• Design of ventilation systems including general ventilation systems;
• Selection of plant and equipment items (Air Handling Units, Fans, Pumps, Pressurisation Units, Boilers, Heat emitters, Chillers, Ductwork).
