Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a skilled mechanical design engineer to interpret client specifications and develop robust rail-related designs for heating, cooling, ventilation, and drainage systems.

You will select plant and equipment, ensure compliance with Network Rail and London Underground standards, and contribute to landmark projects across the UK, with hybrid working and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience of mechanical design in the Rail environment.
• Chartered Engineer status with a UK Engineering Institution.
• Knowledge of above-ground plumbing and waste/drainage systems; NR/LU standards; controls/BMS.

Responsibilities

• Interpret client specification requirements in developing designs.
• Design pipework for heating, cooling, hot/cold water systems.
• Design ventilation systems including general ventilation.
• Select plant/equipment (AHUs, fans, pumps, boilers, heat emitters, chillers, ductwork, etc.).
