Overview

Quantity Surveyor - Tier 1 Fit Out Contractor. Location: Hertfordshire. Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + Excellent Bonuses. This is a huge opportunity to join a Tier 1 fit out contractor who are absolutely smashing it this year. They deliver outstanding commercial and life science CAT A and B fit out projects, typically valued between £1m and £20m.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Commercial Manager on large-scale projects while managing the commercial delivery of your own jobs.
• Prepare cost plans, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Procure subcontractors and manage payments, ensuring contracts are adhered to.
• Monitor budgets, cash flow, and financial forecasting throughout project lifecycle.
• Provide accurate reporting and commercial advice to project teams and senior management.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and UK construction legislation.

Experience/Qualifications

• Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor within UK construction (fit out experience highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and cost reporting.
• Ability to work independently on smaller projects while supporting senior colleagues on larger schemes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ambitious and motivated, with a desire to progress in a Tier 1 environment.
