Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is hiring a Quantity Surveyor to join the Regional Civils team on the Bramford to Twinstead Network Optimisation project, near Colchester. The role focuses on commercial delivery, cost control, and value optimisation across the subcontract package lifecycle.

You will support procurement, governance, and commercial performance, working with project teams to ensure timely cost reporting and accurate final accounts, while upholding BB's standards and sustainability objectives.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent industry experience.
• Previous commercial experience within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles, commercial processes and contract administration.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial administration of subcontract packages through the project lifecycle.
• Maintaining accurate cost reporting systems and tracking budgets, commitments and movements.
• Producing cost forecasts and monitoring costs to completion.
• Providing monthly cost and value reporting in line with BB reporting processes.
• Managing subcontract procurement, tendering, evaluation and administration.
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Ensuring compliance with BB’s BMS and commercial standards.
• Using BIM and digital tools to support progress monitoring and change management.
