The Opportunity

Due to continued growth on a £600mn civil engineering programme, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading Tier 1 contractor, ensuring financial control and contractual compliance on a project that shapes the future of the UK’s energy and environmental commitments.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

• Manage all aspects of cost control, forecasting, and reporting for allocated work packages.
• Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and final accounts in line with NEC contract requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure timely payment applications.
• Provide accurate commercial advice to the project team and support risk management processes.
• Liaise with client representatives and maintain strong working relationships.
• Ensure compliance with company and project financial governance procedures.

You will have the following qualifications & experience

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial management principles.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

It’s great if you also have the following

• Experience working in a nuclear or highly regulated environment.
• Familiarity with cost management software and digital reporting tools.
• Membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS).
