Job summary

Cranleigh STEM & Sustainability Recruitment are partnering with a growing manufacturing business in Telford to recruit a hands-on Quality Manager. You will own the Quality function and lead a small team while collaborating with Production and Sales to drive quality standards and continuous improvement.

This role suits a practical, proactive Quality professional who enjoys on-the-floor involvement and has a strong focus on customer satisfaction and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Quality management experience within manufacturing environments.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 (advantageous).
• Experience with problem-solving techniques and corrective actions.
• Experience supervising or managing a small team.
• Ability to work directly with production teams, customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Manage and continually improve the Quality Management System to ISO standards.
• Lead and develop the quality team with a hands-on approach on the shop floor.
• Manage internal, external and customer audits.
• Investigate non-conformances, lead root cause analysis, implement corrective actions.
• Oversee calibration, document control and quality KPI reporting.
• Collaborate with Production and Sales to resolve quality issues and meet customer requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
• Support supplier and customer quality assurance activities.

Job description

Quality Manager - Manufacturing / Engineering

• Location: Telford
• Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
• Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5:00pm, Friday 7:30am-11:30am (some flexibility available)

We're working exclusively with an established and growing manufacturing business in Telford to recruit a hands-on Quality Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to take ownership of the Quality function, leading a small team of two (Quality Lead and Quality Inspector) whilst working closely with Production and Sales to drive quality standards, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and continually improve the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
• Lead and develop the Quality team, maintaining a hands-on approach to day-to-day activities
• Manage internal, external and customer audits
• Investigate non-conformances, lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Oversee calibration, document control and quality KPI reporting
• Collaborate with Production and Sales to resolve quality issues and meet customer requirements
• Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes
• Support supplier and customer quality assurance activities

About You:

• Quality Management experience within a manufacturing environment (essential)
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 (advantageous)
• Experience with problem-solving techniques, corrective actions and continuous improvement
• Previous experience supervising or managing a small team
• Confident working directly with production teams, customers and suppliers
• Knowledge of PPAP documentation and customer-specific quality requirements would be advantageous
