Job summary

Cranleigh Scientific is working with a growing manufacturing business in Telford to recruit a hands-on Quality Manager. You will own the Quality function, lead a small team (Quality Lead and Quality Inspector) and work closely with Production and Sales to drive quality standards and continuous improvement.

The role requires practical shop-floor involvement, strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, and a track record of tackling non-conformances, CAPAs and audits.

Qualifications

• Quality management experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
• IATF 16949 Internal Auditor qualification
• Experience with problem-solving techniques, corrective actions and continuous improvement
• Previous experience supervising or managing a small team
• Confident working directly with production teams, customers and suppliers
• Knowledge of PPAP documentation and customer-specific quality requirements would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Manage and continually improve the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
• Lead and develop the Quality team, maintaining a hands-on approach to day-to-day activities
• Manage internal, external and customer audits
• Investigate non-conformances, lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Oversee calibration, document control and quality KPI reporting
• Collaborate with Production and Sales to resolve quality issues and meet customer requirements
• Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes
• Support supplier and customer quality assurance activities

Quality Manager – Manufacturing / Engineering

Location: Telford

Salary: £40,000

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday–Thursday 7:30am–5:00pm, Friday 7:30am–11:30am (some flexibility available)

We’re working exclusively with an established and growing manufacturing business in Telford to recruit a hands-on Quality Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to take ownership of the Quality function, leading a small team of two (Quality Lead and Quality Inspector) whilst working closely with Production and Sales to drive quality standards, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and continually improve the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
• Lead and develop the Quality team, maintaining a hands-on approach to day-to-day activities
