Quality Engineer

Location: Slough

Term: Permanent

Salary: £42,000-£50,000 dependent on experience

My client is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Slough area. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding and passion about Lean Manufacturing and will be mainly responsible for improving quality of the company's operational processes and output.

Qualifications
  • 2 years experience in Manufacturing Environment
  • APQP / PPAP experience beneficial
  • Self‑motivated individual
  • Right first time approach
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
Responsibilities
  • Drive standardisation on processes along with waste elimination and continuous improvement
  • Support 8D activities on parts connected to internal or supplier quality concerns
  • Understanding of APQP and change point control management
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance throughout product development cycle for NPI
  • Responsible for control plans and QA associated to manufacturing processes which are outsourced
  • Collating material compliance data, report writing where necessary
  • Resolve customer issues in a timely manner
  • Champion problem solving with use of RCA tools such as 8D, 5WHY, ISHIKAWA, FMEA's
  • Handle internal & external audits
  • Monitor supplier performance, define process parameter to ensure process capability
  • Monitor output, quality & scrap rates. Improving OTD performance
  • Maintain records of products and approved suppliers
  • Identify, lead and participate in improvement project - member of the CI team
