AL920: Quality Engineer

Location: Lisburn

Salary: £40,000+

Overview

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Quality Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from соціальні ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all customer quality requirements are complied with during manufacture.
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction by resolving external and internal concerns promptly using appropriate continuous improvement methodology (PDCA/8D).
  • Responsibility for making informed decisions regarding line stoppages due to quality problems.
  • Dimensional evaluation of products to ensure compliance with agreed CAD & Drawing data.
  • Control of sample approval of new products, including PPAP & FAI documentation.
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits to continually identify areas for improvement within the business and suppliers.
  • Create quality plans for new products, including developing programs for new product, patrol, in‑process, and final release inspection routines while supporting the continuous improvement of the Manufacturing Process Sheets (MPS).
  • Monitor and measure quality KPIs.
  • Manage the FMEA process, identify and implement system improvements following Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Assist in the training of quality awareness, working with operational supervisory and management teams.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety procedures.
  • Any other duties which may be necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Skills and Qualifications demonstrates
  • HND / Degree or 3 years' experience in Automotive or a similar manufacturing environment within a similar Process / Manufacturing role.
  • Ability to identify problems, find root causes, and implement robust & sustainable solutions.
  • Ability to provide quick response to internal & external customers.
  • Knowledge of 8D, FMEA, Control Plan, APQP, PPAP.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 & ISO 9001.
  • Positive, can‑do attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team working ethos.
