A leading laboratory services provider in Guildford seeks a Quality Management Officer to maintain the QMS and ensure compliance with ISO standards. Qualifications

• Degree level educated in Biomed or related field.
• Active CPD portfolio within the field.
• Experience in Change Management.
• Experience using Document control software.
• Experience within supporting a quality management system - ISO 9001, ISO 15189.
• Experience in performing various types of audits.
• Knowledge and understanding of Blood sciences.
• Experience in assay validation/verification and pre-acceptance testing.
• Experience of writing and reviewing SOPS.
• Proactive approach to tasks.
• Able to use own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Deputy Quality Manager when required.
• Train laboratory staff in health and safety and auditing techniques.
• Organise annual temperature monitoring and pipette calibration services.
• Ensure equipment records are maintained.
• Support quality team for internal and external audits.
• Keep quality documentation up to date.
• Monitor non-conformities and escalate when necessary.
• Assist in organising monthly meetings.
• Coordinate with training coordinators for laboratory management.

Job description

Working hours are Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day to day maintenance of the QMS (Q-Pulse) with its associated ISO or other regulatory standards as per service requirements i.e. ISO but not limited to including document control logging non-conformities trending corrective actions and opportunities for improvement.
• Deputise for the Deputy Quality Manager within scope act as an UKAS contact when required ensuring timely management of UKAS assessment findings with documentation of root causes impacts and completion of agreed actions by submission deadlines.
• Train laboratory staff in applicable health and safety requirements quality inductions document control non-conformities change management and auditing techniques when required.
• Coordinate and organise annual temperature monitoring probes and pipette calibration services between clinical diagnostics and genetics.
• Ensure all equipment records calibration and monitoring is carried out by relevant laboratory staff.
• Support the quality team in preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
• Help ensure quality documentation including procedures IQC / EQA and the Quality Manual are kept up to date.
• Monitor and log non conformities escalating overdue actions to the Deputy Quality Manager.
• Assist in organising monthly and bimonthly meetings.
• Work together with the training coordinators to ensure the laboratory management and medical training matrix is up to date.
• Assist in incident reporting processes and help coordinate Health & Safety inspections.

Qualifications
