Location: Near Southampton. Job Type: Full-time.

Our client, a well-established global organisation based just outside Southampton, is looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant / Expeditor to join their busy and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands‑on experience and develop a career within buying and procurement.

The Role
  • Placing, progressing and expediting purchase orders
  • Chasing suppliers to ensure on‑time deliveries
  • Maintaining and updating supplier and vendor data, including pricing, lead times and product ranges
  • Forecasting and planning future stock requirements
  • Assisting with sourcing and introducing new products
  • Managing your own workload, with a line manager based in Europe
The ideal candidate
  • Previous office‑based experience is essential
  • Experience in purchasing, buying or procurement is desirable but not essential
  • Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with suppliers and colleagues at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • IT literate, with good working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Self‑motivated with a proactive approach
