Job summary

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is the UK’s largest public service department, administering welfare and pensions for around 20 million people. The Work Coach role is varied and rewarding, with daily interactions that support customers’ needs and progress into work.

You will work with customers face-to-face and across digital and telephone channels on site in the DWP estate, providing tailored coaching to help people find, stay in, and progress in employment.

Responsibilities

• Providing support to customers claiming benefits and other eligible support.
• Offering quality advice to customers about job search actions and opportunities.
• Meeting legal duties to comply with Equality Act 2010 and ensure access to services.
• Building positive relationships with customers to encourage motivation and trust.
• Developing knowledge of local employment opportunities and partner support.
• Making timely decisions based on customer needs and referring to appropriate help.
