Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a strategic Business Development Manager to win public sector opportunities and manage multi-stage tender processes across a national territory.

You will develop relationships with local authorities, grow existing accounts, and drive contract value while navigating market trends in packaging, waste and environmental services. The role offers hybrid work with on-site days in Rotherham.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in business development or sales with tender/bid-led cycles.
• Background in packaging, waste, environmental services or public sector sales is beneficial.
• Self-starter with initiative and drive.
• Able to win new business and grow existing accounts.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the public sector, primarily through formal bidding and tender processes.
• Manage longer, multi-stage sales cycles from initial approach through to contract award.
• Grow and develop existing local authority accounts, identifying opportunities to expand contract value.
• Build strong relationships with key decision-makers within local authorities nationally.
• Prepare and lead on tender submissions and contract negotiations.
• Stay ahead of market trends across packaging, waste and environmental services.
• Report on pipeline, activity and performance.
