Job summary

phs Group is seeking a Public Sector Account Manager to manage and grow an established portfolio across Midlands, South West and South Wales. You will lead retention and new business growth within MATs and the education sector, guiding tender activities and account plans to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

Reporting to the Head of Public Sector, you will work with internal teams, maintain Salesforce CRM data, and travel across the region to build strong customer partnerships and maximise

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing public sector customer accounts within a complex environment (ideally 5+ years).
• Experience working with the education sector and/or Multi Academy Trusts (highly desirable).
• A strong track record of customer retention, account growth and business development.
• Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience of working within a service-led organisation.
• Strong commercial awareness and strategic planning capability.
• Experience using Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with a desire to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
• High levels of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the region.

Responsibilities

• Deliver annual retention targets across an existing public sector customer portfolio.
• Achieve new business growth targets through account development and the acquisition of new opportunities within Multi Academy Trusts and the wider education sector.
• Develop and maintain detailed account plans covering opportunities, service improvements, contract reviews and product innovation.
• Build strong partnerships with customers and key internal stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of customer objectives and requirements.
• Ensure customers receive an exceptional level of service and support.
• Influence tender and contract renewal strategies, demonstrating the value of phs solutions and services.
• Lead responses to tenders, including pricing, risk assessment and development of compelling win themes.
• Accurately maintain customer activity, opportunities and pipeline information within Salesforce CRM.
• Produce management reports including revenue forecasts, pipeline updates, SWOT analyses and action plans.
• Take a proactive approach to account management, ensuring clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement.
