Public Cloud Network Engineer
As a Public Cloud Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and optimising cloud networking services across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your work will enable the bank to provide secure, innovative and dependable digital services to a global customer base. You will work at the intersection of cutting‑edge public cloud technologies and enterprise‑grade financial systems, ensuring connectivity, resilience and compliance in a highly regulated environment. This position is pivotal to the bank's digital transformation journey, supporting robust network infrastructure, regulatory adherence and the pursuit of operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement and optimise cloud networking services across AWS, Azure and GCP.
- Build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems, using hardware, software, networks and cloud computing platforms to ensure reliability, scalability and security.
- Ensure reliability, availability and scalability of systems, platforms and technology through application of software engineering techniques, automation and best practices in incident response.
- Develop, deliver and maintain high‑quality infrastructure solutions that fulfil business requirements, ensuring measurable reliability, performance, availability and ease of use.
- Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify, address and resolve potential issues, vulnerabilities or outages, using data to drive down mean time to resolution.
- Develop and implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention, utilising software scripting/coding disciplines.
- Implement secure configuration and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber‑attacks, vulnerabilities and other security threats.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with product managers, architects and other engineers to define IT infrastructure requirements, devise solutions and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, actively contributing to the organisation's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
Required qualifications
- Strong networking background – TCP/IP stack, routing (specifically BGP), switching, load balancers and DNS.
- Security and compliance expertise – Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW), NAT, IPSec VPNs, and cloud‑specific security controls (e.g., security groups, NACLs, WAFs).
- Strong troubleshooting skills – capability to handle complex networking issues across on‑prem and multiple clouds.
- Experience with at least one of AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and understanding of DevOps concepts.
Preferred qualifications
- AWS, Azure or GCP specific certifications.
- Experience in automated configuration of networking components.
