Job summary

First Bus Weston-Super-Mare depot is seeking a PSV/HGV Mechanic with an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) to join our engineering team. You will work a 39-hour week on a rotating early/late shift pattern, including weekends, at 20.91 GBP per hour with a weekend premium.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Flexible approach to work with the ability to multi skill.
• UK driving license holder; PCV license is desirable and assistable to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
• Diagnose faults and specify repair methods and parts.
• Carry out servicing and routine examinations using handheld data capture devices.
• Attend on-road breakdowns and recoveries as required.
• Road test vehicles to identify defects after repairs.

Location: Searle Cres, Weston-Super-Mare BS23 3XP

Contracted Hours: 39 hours per week (full time & permanent)

Working Hours: 5 days over 7 (including weekends) on a rotating shift pattern of early and lates

Pay Rate: £20.91 per hour with a weekend premium rate of £34.10 per hour

About the Role - £3000 NEW RECRUIT JOINING BONUS!!!

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for our First Bus Weston-Super-Mare depot – PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from Light Vehicle qualified candidates and ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

About You

• Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair?
• Do you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to multi skill?
• Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license is desirable however we can help you achieve this
