Job summary

Nexus Life Sciences in Deeside is seeking a Protein Scientist to oversee immunoassays and protein characterisation. The role blends office-based scientific review with hands-on laboratory work, about 60% office and 40% lab, to drive analytical data quality and regulatory readiness.

You will work with internal teams and external labs to ensure robust data supporting product development and release, with opportunities to bring methods in-house and contribute to future programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in GMP-regulated pharma/biotech environments.
• Practical protein analytical and biologics characterisation techniques.
• Ability to review and interpret analytical data and draw conclusions.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with labs and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead stability programmes (ICH, stress, transport).
• Review and interpret analytical data from external labs.
• Oversee biologically-based analytical methods (characterisation & immunoassays).
• Coordinate testing with third-party labs ensuring timelines and quality.
• Create and approve protocols, reports, specifications, and docs.
• Prepare specifications for raw materials and finished products.
• Perform statistical analysis and trend evaluation of data.
• Support tech transfer and method implementation.
