Job summary
WSP is seeking an Associate Protection & Control Engineer to lead protection and control design within the UK Energy business. You will drive technical leadership, manage multidisciplinary teams, and support governance and client engagement on major transmission and distribution projects.
You will act as BP141 Authorised Engineer and/or CDAE where applicable, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the growth and development of our capabilities while upholding client standards and industry
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Extensive experience designing protection and control schemes for transmission and distribution.
- Knowledge of IEC 61850 and IEC 60870 protocols.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of protection and control solutions for transmission and distribution projects.
- Provide technical direction and assurance across multidisciplinary teams.
- Undertake BP141 and CDAE activities to align with client standards and governance.
- Mentor and develop engineers across experience levels.
- Engage with clients and represent WSP in technical discussions and reviews.
- Support growth of the Protection & Control capability through recruitment and development.
