Job summary

WSP in the United Kingdom Energy sector is seeking an Associate Protection & Control Engineer to lead the design and delivery of protection and control schemes for transmission and distribution projects.

You will provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams, support BP141 and CDAE activities, mentor junior engineers, and help develop client relationships and project governance. This role offers hybrid working with opportunities for growth within a global engineering leader.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Extensive experience in protection and control design for transmission and distribution.
Knowledge of IEC 61850 and IEC 60870 is advantageous.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects.

Responsibilities

Lead development and delivery of protection and control solutions for T&D projects.
Provide technical direction and assurance across multidisciplinary teams.
Lead BP141/ CDAE activities and ensure design compliance with standards.
Mentor engineers, support performance growth, and drive capability development.
Engage with clients and participate in design reviews and governance meetings.
Support business growth through resource planning and technical offerings.
