Job summary

WSP invites an Associate Protection & Control Engineer to lead the design and delivery of protection and control systems for transmission and distribution networks in the UK energy sector. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, oversee design assurance, and work closely with clients to ensure robust, compliant solutions.

You will mentor engineers, support business growth, and participate in project governance, contributing to WSP's delivery of landmark energy projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Extensive experience designing and delivering protection and control schemes.
• Strong knowledge of protection philosophies and electrical networks.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and reviewing designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of protection & control solutions for transmission and distribution projects.
• Undertake BP141 and CDAE activities ensuring compliance with client standards.
• Mentor engineers across experience levels and support capability development.
• Engage with clients, participate in design reviews and governance meetings.
• Support growth of the Protection & Control capability through recruitment and bid work.
