Job description

A client within the Public Sector based in Warwickshire is currently recruiting for a Property Contracts Officer to join their Capital Investment Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority housing / corporate property environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to manage capital and revenue contracts (up to circa £2m) to ensure the Council's housing and corporate property assets are maintained to a high standard, with works delivered in line with contract conditions, legislation, quality requirements and budgetary controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acting as Contract Administrator under JCT contracts and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
  • Managing procurement processes, developing specifications and tender documentation
  • Managing and monitoring contractors' performance, quality of workmanship and customer satisfaction
  • Managing budgets, valuations, invoices and financial records for allocated programmes of work
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations 2015, Building Safety Act 2024 and asbestos legislation
  • Liaising with internal teams, consultants, contractors and the Clerk of Works to deliver programmes successfully
The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require:

  • NVQ Level 4 in a relevant construction / property discipline (or willingness to work towards)
  • Relevant construction, surveying or contract management qualification
  • Evidence of continued professional development

  • Proven experience in contract administration using JCT suite of contracts
  • Strong knowledge of procurement procedures within a local authority
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and customer‑focused skills
  • Strong financial, IT and project management skills
  • Methodical approach with excellent record‑keeping abilities
  • Good knowledge of housing, capital works and statutory compliance

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £23 per hour Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35) (approx.£18 per hour PAYE).
