Job summary

Intact Insurance, formerly RSA, is recruiting for an underwriting support role based in Manchester or Leeds. You will build underwriting capability by preparing cases, gathering data and performing accurate administration to enable effective trading decisions.

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and consistent outputs.
• Ability to interpret data and apply guidance to support decision making.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with colleagues and contribute to team outcomes.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to tackle workloads and deliver tasks within a structured environment.
• Ability to use digital tools and systems such as Excel or similar platforms to support underwriting activity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cases, data gathering, and accurate administration to enable effective trading decisions.
• Handle straightforward new business and renewal activity within defined underwriting frameworks and guidelines.
• Apply basic underwriting knowledge and judgement to assess risks using systems, tools, and established processes.
• Deliver high quality outputs within agreed timelines while maintaining accurate records and data integrity.
• Collaborate with underwriters and colleagues to support workflow, resolve standard queries, and ensure smooth case progression.
• Escalate non standard risks or complex scenarios appropriately to support sound decision making.

Your contribution will help deliver consistent service, support profitable growth, and strengthen collaboration across the underwriting team. You’ll make an impact by:
