Job summary

Intact Insurance, formerly RSA in the UK, is seeking an underwriting leader to shape growth through broker partnerships and new distribution channels. You’ll drive profitable new business, negotiate terms, and lead underwriting teams to smarter working practices.

The role focuses on managing broker performance, market insights, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to secure opportunities across the UK market. Hybrid working and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience underwriting in brokers offices, negotiating new business and renewals.
• Ability to discuss account performance with broker partners.
• Experience in the agricultural sector is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing growth with existing partners and new distribution channels; secure invitations to tender and negotiate profitable solutions.
• Lead the broker panel sales strategy and monitor delivery of financials through action plans.
• Provide leadership for the underwriting team to support broker panel development and smarter working.
• Maintain market knowledge and communicate insights to internal stakeholders to support opportunities for Intact Insurance.

Win as a team

You’ll make an impact by:

• Managing the sourcing process for growth within existing partners, new distribution channels, presenting to new clients, securing invitations to tender and negotiating profitable solutions
• Building and implementing sales strategies for broker panel to deliver sales plans. Alongside this you will take responsibility for monthly monitoring as well as developing and implementing action plans to ensure delivery of financials.
• Providing leadership and direction for the underwriting team to encourage better / smarter working and support the development strategies for broker panel.
• Maintaining and developing a good understanding of relevant product market, sector, geographic location, distribution segmentation and communicate market developments to appropriate internal stakeholders, supporting business opportunities throughout Intact Insurance.

Your skills and experience:

• Experience in underwriting in Brokers offices negotiating new business and renewals. Preferably Property & Casualty but we can also consider Motor.
• Ability to discuss account performance with broker partners
• Experience in the agricultural sector is preferred but not necessary.
