Job description

What you'll be doing

No two days are quite the same. You'll be at the heart of a service that helps customers make changes to their homes with confidence.

You'll:
  • Be the first point of contact for alteration and permission enquiries.
  • Support customers through the application and assessment process, keeping them informed along the way.
  • Work closely with our surveyors, legal teams and housing colleagues to ensure requests are managed smoothly and fairly.
  • Coordinate appointments and inspections, making things as simple as possible for our customers.
  • Review information, identify the right next steps and help ensure decisions are made in line with our policies and safety requirements.
  • Keep our systems and records up to date, helping us provide an efficient and responsive service.

You’ll be working from our Yeovil office a minimum of three days per week to connect and collaborate with colleagues and the other two days can be worked from at a place of your choosing whether that’s at another of our offices, a cafe or at home.

What we're looking for

We're less concerned about ticking every box and more interested in finding someone who genuinely cares about delivering great service.

You’ll be someone who:
  • Enjoys helping people and building positive relationships.
  • Has strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Can juggle competing priorities and stay calm when things get busy.
  • Has a keen eye for detail and enjoys solving problems.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with a wide range of customers and colleagues.
  • Takes ownership, uses initiative and looks for ways to make things better.

Experience within housing, property, or a similar environment would be beneficial, but most importantly you'll share our commitment to putting customers first.

When you join Abri, you're joining a team that's passionate about creating better futures for our customers and communities.

In return, you'll find a supportive environment where your ideas are valued, your development is encouraged, and the work you do genuinely makes a difference to people's lives.

If you're looking for a role where you can combine customer service, administration, and problem-solving while helping people make their homes work better for them, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Experience of working in a similar role, in a property related organisation, working across multiple areas.
  • Excellent IT skills with practical knowledge and experience of Microsoft applications (Open Housing and internal systems is required).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a proactive, enthusiastic, and self‑motivated approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, a flexible team player personality with the ability to make decisions and work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • A strong administrative background with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Be able to work under pressure and prioritise workloads to deliver an outstanding service to the partnered departments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Desirable: Commercial acumen; able to successfully balance customer needs with organisational requirements, applying integrity and good business judgement in decision making.
  • Demonstrate our Values and Behaviours.
