Project Support Officer (Children)

Rate: £300 per day (Inside IR35, umbrella)

Hybrid

Start Date: February

Duration: 3 months - until May 2026 initially

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination and Governance
  • Organise and coordinate project meetings, workshops and steering groups
  • Prepare agendas, take accurate minutes, track actions and ensure timely follow‑up
  • Support the production of highlight reports, dashboards and presentations for programme and project boards
Data and Analysis Support
  • Collate, monitor and track data requests across multiple workstreams
  • Work collaboratively with Finance and Analysis & Insight (A&I) teams to support benefit mapping and realisation
  • Maintain and update live trackers covering placements, costs, milestones and key performance measures
Documentation and Communication
  • Draft and format project documentation, guidance materials and presentations (e.g. PowerPoint, flowcharts and briefings)
  • Support internal communications and stakeholder engagement across workstreams
  • Produce concise summaries and updates from the Knowledge Hub and other relevant sources
Planning and Delivery Support
  • Assist with process mapping and workshop delivery alongside Business Analysts and transformation colleagues
  • Contribute to the maintenance of project plans and delivery trackers
  • Support coordination and logistics of transformation activity across the wider programme
Team and Programme Support
  • Provide flexible, proactive support across multiple children’s transformation projects as priorities evolve
  • Work collaboratively to maintain pace, consistency and quality of delivery
  • Uphold professional standards and a solution-focused approach within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in a project support or programme support role, ideally within local authority or public sector
  • Strong organisational skills with experience coordinating meetings, actions and reporting
  • Confident working with data, trackers and performance information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting transformation or change programmes (desirable)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across teams
  • Experience within Children’s Services or related programmes (highly desirable)
