Overview

This job is with Turner & Townsend, delivering better outcomes for clients and helping people realize their potential across 110+ offices worldwide. An exciting opportunity has arisen for Project Managers to join our Central and Local Government team in our flagship office in Central London. We are looking for a pro-active, self-motivated problem solver with a logical, structured approach to managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Some experience of contract administration and understanding technical inputs from design/contract teams is helpful. We value collaboration and high standards of delivery, with live projects across London, Cambridge, Hertfordshire, Surrey and Kent, and many more in the pipeline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct background research, data collection and benchmarking
  • Lead on residential-led or mixed-use projects at the enabling stage (potentially including highways, utilities, enabling works, remediation, public realm, bridges, utility diversions or upgrades, and managing S106 or S278 obligations)
  • Establish effective processes and systems to be used throughout the project
  • Monitor and document project progress and other performance indicators
  • Track and document changes
  • Prepare written project communication materials
  • Prepare formal project progress and other reports
  • Liaise with client, contractors and designers
  • Attend meetings and draft minutes, etc.
Other Responsibilities
  • Prepare presentation materials for client pitches
  • Input key information into the Turner & Townsend internal database
Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Cognate qualification (construction, real estate, planning, engineering)
  • Full-time role with flexible working opportunities and home working
  • Ability to travel London/Home Counties/South East
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, presentation, written)
  • Self-motivated and able to solve problems and think strategically
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders including clients, influential parties, contractors and end-users
  • CDM/site health and safety knowledge

Desirable

  • Engineering qualification and/or background (preferably civil, structural, mechanical/electrical)
  • Broad understanding of the development lifecycle (business case, design, consents, procurement, delivery, handover, management)
  • Direct experience of on-site construction
  • Experience in residential-led or mixed-use projects, preferably at the enabling stage (could include highways, utilities, enabling works, remediation, public realm, bridges, utility diversions or upgrades, managing S106 or S278 obligations)
