Job summary

Balfour Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution team in Motherwell is seeking a Cost Controller to manage and report project costs, supporting the project finance function across operational and commercial stakeholders.

You’ll monitor cost performance, perform variance analyses, support audits and collaborate with suppliers, contractors and client representatives to keep financial targets on track while enabling continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost control within a project finance context is preferred.
• Strong IT skills including MS Office; familiarity with Oracle R12 is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams with cost-related queries, providing analysis, validation and financial insight.
• Assist the Commercial function with cost allocation and produce weekly cost reports.
• Conduct variance analysis comparing actual costs to forecasts and budgets.
• Monitor and track project costs to help achieve financial performance targets.
• Support audits and provide cost samples and validation assistance.
• Collaborate with Finance, Commercial, HR and Project teams to ensure alignment.
