Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Motherwell is seeking a Cost Controller to join the Power Transmission & Distribution project finance team. You will help manage, monitor and report project costs, providing financial insight to operational and commercial stakeholders.

Key duties include cost allocation, weekly cost reports, variance analysis, audits support, and collaboration with Finance, Commercial, HR and Project teams.

Qualifications

• Support cost-related queries with analysis and financial insight.
• Produce weekly cost reports and ensure accurate cost allocation.
• Conduct variance analysis comparing costs to forecasts and budgets.
• Collaborate with project teams to support audits and cost validation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor project costs to meet financial targets.
• Assist Senior Finance Manager with ad hoc analysis.
• Liaise with Finance, Commercial, HR and Project teams.
• Support monthly and quarterly audits with cost samples.
• Provide cost information to suppliers/contractors and client reps.
