Job summary

Balfour Beatty invites applications for a Cost Controller on the ASTI Project, Peterhead, to support the financial delivery of complex energy infrastructure work in Scotland.

You will work with the Scotland Energy Delivery Unit to assist cost queries, produce weekly reports, and perform variance analysis, helping ensure accurate budgeting across the programme while collaborating with suppliers and client stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost control and cost reporting for large infrastructure projects.
• Ability to produce weekly cost reports and validate costs.
• Experience with cost variance analysis.
• Strong IT and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project team with cost queries and provide back-up validation.
• Support the Commercial function with cost allocation and weekly cost reports.
• Carry out variance analysis of actual vs forecast costs.
• Monitor and track project costs for financial control.
• Support commercial and wider project teams with cost-control activities.
• Liaise with external suppliers and contractors.
• Support audits with cost samples and validation information.
• Support Finance Manager and Commercial Lead with ad-hoc analysis.
• Link Commercial reporting to Financial project reporting.
