Job description

Position

Project Coordinator / Junior Project Manager

Location

Market Harborough (office based)

Salary

£35,000 to £45,000

Most Project Coordinator roles ask you to keep the paperwork moving. This one asks you to rethink how the paperwork gets done in the first place. A fast-growing interiors and refurbishment specialist is looking for a digitally minded Project Coordinator who wants to progress into Project Management and help shape how a growing business runs. Founded around four years ago, the business delivers multi-service refurbishment packages including drylining, ceilings, partitions, flooring and electrical works. Turnover has grown from £5.2 million last year to a projected £6.3 million this year, and the average project value is climbing. The team of 11 already runs its own CRM and quoting systems and uses AI agents to automate a growing number of tasks, putting it well ahead of most of the sector on digital adoption.

Your first three to six months will be spent getting under the skin of the business: shadowing project administration, finance, operations and the Contracts Managers, mapping how work flows through the company, and finding ways to make it faster and simpler. From there, you will step into managing your own smaller projects, often maintenance and additional works for existing clients, with several running at once. In a business this size, your ideas will be heard and acted on.

Project Coordinator Salary & Benefits

  • £35,000 to £45,000 (DOE)

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

  • Pension scheme with 4% employer contribution

  • Business mileage paid for work-related travel

  • Office based, with flexibility to work from home occasionally

  • Structured development plan towards a Project Manager role

Project Coordinator Job Overview

  • Spend an initial three to six months shadowing project administration, finance, operations and the Contracts and Project Managers

  • Map out how the business operates, reviewing internal processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency

  • Work with the operations lead and company owner to turn existing CRM, quoting and AI tools into practical, company-wide systems

  • Find ways to make day-to-day work easier for the Contracts Managers and Project Managers

  • Support the coordination and administration of live refurbishment projects

  • Progress into managing smaller-value projects, including maintenance and additional works for existing clients

  • Run several smaller projects at once, keeping clients well looked after while the Contracts Managers focus on larger schemes

  • Make occasional site visits where projects require it

Project Coordinator Requirements

  • Around 2 to 5 years' experience as a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator or similar within construction

  • Background in interiors or refurbishment, such as drylining, suspended ceilings, partitions, flooring, electrical or other specialist refurbishment services

  • A clear ambition to progress into Project Management

  • Comfortable with technology and genuinely interested in digitalisation and AI

  • Proactive and curious, with the confidence to question existing processes and suggest better ways of working

  • Well organised, with strong attention to detail

  • Confident communicator, able to work across finance, operations and site teams

  • Based within a commutable distance of Market Harborough

What Makes This Opportunity Different?

  • A planned route from Project Coordinator to Project Manager, with a structured induction across every part of the business

  • A business already using AI agents, its own CRM and quoting systems, and looking for someone to push that further

  • Strong growth, from £5.2 million to a projected £6.3 million turnover in a single year

  • A team of 11 where your ideas will have real influence over how the business is run

  • Variety across drylining, ceilings, partitions, flooring and electrical refurbishment work

  • Room to grow as the business builds out its structure and delegates more responsibility
