Job description
Overview

Progress Tutor (on-site) – 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Salary within the range of £24,633 to £29,373 per annum. Starting salary subject to College salary assessment process.

At Suffolk New College, we support learners’ long-term goals by providing consistent, character-led support that helps them build confidence and routines for ongoing success. We are looking for a Progress Tutor to join our Student Progress team to work with learners aged 16–19. This post is based at our Rural campus (Otley) and Halesworth (OTC) sites. Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site, so you may be required to work at and travel between other campuses. We welcome applicants who are passionate about the broader Progress Tutor opportunities across our provision.

Responsibilities
  • Work alongside curriculum teams to guide, mentor and motivate learners aged 16–19.
  • Help learners make sense of their journey and support them to stay on track both personally and professionally.
  • Collaborate with other Progress Tutors and Vocational Tutors; communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  • Be organised, able to multi-task, and adapt to changing needs in a busy but rewarding environment.
  • Travel between campuses as required by the role.
Candidate requirements
  • Essential: Level 3 qualification accompanied by literacy and numeracy to Level 2 (GCSE grade 4/C).
  • Essential: Teaching qualification or a commitment to achieving one within a specified period.
  • Experience of working with young people and ability to motivate and inspire, with clear targets and progress monitoring.
