You'll be hands‑on in the factory, making sure operations run smoothly, standards are upheld, and your team feels supported to perform at their best. What you'll be doing
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, manage, and coach your team to maintain strong performance, attendance, and conduct.
  • Set clear expectations, provide training, and ensure everyone understands their role.
  • Act as a role model on the line, leading by example in behaviours and standards.
  • Take ownership of your area, holding yourself and your team accountable.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure legal and contractual compliance across your area.
  • Promote hygiene and health & safety as everyday priorities.
  • Stop unsafe practices immediately and take corrective action.
  • Carry out accident investigations, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures.
  • Conduct risk assessments, implement SOPs, and drive corrective actions.
Operations & Performance
  • Organise line operations to balance quality and efficiency.
  • Monitor progress daily, working with fellow supervisors and other departments to resolve issues.
  • Complete documentation and databases such as KPIs, staff sheets, materials usage, and efficiency reports.
  • Support cross‑functional areas when needed, ensuring flexibility across the site.
  • Work toward achieving KPIs and a balanced scorecard approach.
Quality & Accreditation
  • Embed food safety and quality standards across the line.
  • Maintain hygiene and housekeeping to the standards of a quality food manufacturer.
  • Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations.
  • Support audits and inspections to achieve and maintain accreditations.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders including auditors and customer representatives.
Communication & Collaboration
  • Liaise with managers and colleagues to keep operations aligned.
  • Escalate issues when needed and ensure clear communication across the business.
What you’ll bring
  • Strong communication skills and solid numeracy to report on KPIs.
  • Proven experience managing teams, building capability, and addressing issues effectively.
  • Self‑motivation, resilience, and confidence in decision‑making.
  • IOSH Managing Safety and Food Safety Level 3 certifications.
